,webp File Extensions.

Am wondering if .webp picture files will ever be able to load here in the Forum area and over on My Images and My Posts areas....?

It's sad that I'm sooooo lazy about Save As'ing .webp picture files as .jpg or .gif files....! :p

I know how you feel, I am also sometimes lazy in changing them over.

In addition I had a problem last week when Windows decided to change the default and started saving all .jpeg pics with a .jfif extension which was very frustrating as they don't work with pimp so for several days I had to use "save as " to change them all back Happily after doing a bit of research I found out how to go into the registry and change the default back.

I`ll check this out with the developers and let you know.

This is a problematic format, since its not supported on many browsers, and if we add it many users might see broken pictures... we can auto convert it to .jpg ? but not sure this is what you guys want/need.

and i think not many people use this format to upload also?

My experience is that happily only a small minority of pics are in the .webp format so if I cannot find a .jpeg version I use the "Paint" app to save as .jpeg.... or if feeling particularly lazy think "screw it" and delete it.

I don't have the degree of techiness to know but maybe (like I found I had to do with those pesky .jfif) the registry can be altered to automatically save all .webp as .jpeg?

I'm coming across more .webp's out there these days. Many of them are video clips, which (naturally) get saved as a picture when Save As'ed a .jpg
I'd think there would be a .webp<-->.gif app out there somewhere....

Ahhhhh...modern technology....
