UI suggestion: User Profiles Links
I really like how you are growing this site. I have 2 suggestions that fit my personal taste and I won't at all be upset if these don't or can't get implemented.
I will name them both in this post and you can decide if either one merits further attention, as they are similar. Interacting with other users is part of what I enjoy at this site. To promote that, I have attached 2 screen shots to show where I think we could be allowed to more easily connect with each other. One is from the alerts, when someone upvotes or leaves a comment. The other suggestion is to increase interest in and traffic to the forum by linking from a user profile in the galleries area. I look forward to your reaction to my suggestion screens. -Davehttps://ist6-4.filesor.com/pimpandho...-Profile_0.jpg https://ist6-4.filesor.com/pimpandho...-Profile_0.jpg |
Hey, sorry for the delay, in the bell notification the notices already lead to the profile of the user? or this is not what you meant?
Regarding the second suggestion i need to think how to do it smart, since we already have way to much icons, I'll brainstorm on this, if you have ideas/suggestions, you are more then welcome to draw a good UI ideas :) |
"The Bell" Nitty Gritty of the notifications' behavior
Quote:
I *used to* develop sites YEARS ago so please have a laugh if my terms are out of date, but I think you will understand what I am describing here. It seems like you have it very close, but that maybe one html element or css is superseding the other (others). You are PARTIALLY correct: that link will lead to the indicated user in the cases when the "bell" announcement is a "follow"...but when the notification is announcing an upvote or a comment the entire cell leads to the post or photos which was/were upvoted or commented. If the user name IS actually linked in those cases then it is not available to the cursor through the GUI. -or - it seems the LAST LINK list inside the cell is the only active one. In my new composite screen cap you can see where the user UPVOTED a photo that both the user name and the photo are blue as if they are links, but clicking anywhere in the cell always results in linking to the photo, never the user. I do hope this is a help, and again I have to say you are evolving into a really nice site and I am happy to be part of this community. -Dave |
Both Fixed & Live, please notice 3 little dots near username u`ll see there there link to forum profile.

The bell notifications seem to work as they did before, but/ and with all the upvoters being available from the upvote indicators I see the flow of this is smooth and highly useful. THANK YOU!! |
Glad you like it enjoy :)
and did you see the link to forum profile? |
