Hey Forum Friends....

I am probably the cause of some of the consternation going on here lately and I'm sorry if it has taken away from the site's entertainment and the purpose that The Top Pimp meant for his site.

I downvoted a picture.

And, somehow, this has released a malstrom of vindictiveness by someone(s). Multiple accounts...avalanche of downvoting from notional accounts...and so on....

So...if i could put it out there...
--Has anyone else downvoted...?
--If so, what was the reason...?
--If a post seems to have gone against one of the 8 Post Guidelines, has anyone flagged it..?
--If so, for which of the Guidelines.

I'm hoping this might generate some useful discussion amongst Users....specifically ones that are posting, album'ing, commenting, voting (up...and down...?) in hopes to entertain and support The Top Pimp's site.

If I get no response, I'll take that as a meta-downvote and will quarantine myself (so to speak) to check myself.

First of all there is no problem with you downvoting picture, and this is normal behavior.

but I'm starting to think overall, maybe remove downvote overall and keep only upvote...

YouTube did this and many social networks, work based on upvotes only.

then it would solve this whole issue overall... only quality content will get upvoted and bad content will be unranked overall.... anyway let me hear your thoughts..

I haven't downvoted or flagged anything. I, personally, wouldn't downvote anything. But I would flag something. As far as downvoting, if I don't like something, I just move along. In a way, just happy someone is participating, even if the content isn't to my liking. Flagging is about rules violations, & the ability of the owner to keep the site up on it's server(s), w/o issues.

Just my 2cents. :)

I agree - get rid of "downvote". If someone doesn't like a photo, gallery, or post, they can just move on. You have in place a "Flag" option and that really should be enough.

This isn't a competition, so I agree with maintaining UP-vote only and remove the option of "downvote". Too many juvenile minds have proven they can't use it responsibly.

Yeps, make perfect sense tbh let me discuss this with the team, this might be a good change.

"Flag" should be used as you described above this. to keep the site clean from trash uploaders who upload stuff that danger our site and community, and put stuff that we do not allow in our TOS.

Personally I think upvote only is the way forward. It gives a more positive feel to our community and will cause far less division.

Definitely agree....if possible, maybe the flags could be made available from the "Last Activity" view listing. To avoid needing to go to the person's albums/postings to get to the flag option.

I'm just saying here....
I think this site has (positively) grown a lot and maybe there might be an opportunity for specializing into communities, like some other sites do. Kinda like xhamster does some broad categories of straight, gay, transgender.
Of course I would probably get assigned to the Smart Ass, Wisecracking, Never Serious, Stop Posting Those "Keeper" Themed Posts community
