Issues with broken Images!

Hello Dear P&H Users,

Today we had a horrible crush on one of our upload servers that is responsible for the data from the last 3 month of sites operation

We are now battling on restoring around 1TB of data.

The recovery time (if successful) should be around 14 hours give or take. so please bare with us.

We will keep you posted as get news from our hosting company.

Thanks for understanding.

pikopiko3 04-01-2015 04:27 PM

So, there is chance that many of those photos will not be restored?

pimp 04-01-2015 04:31 PM

Yes there is such chance, but lets not jump to conclusions.

Lets wait patiently for updates from our hosting company.

RomRul 04-01-2015 07:11 PM

Very bad news. This is the second photo host who in recent days has such a large-scale problem. imagebam just lost all the pictures from one of the servers.

Ok. we will wait. Please let us know what finally happened when the process of restore is completed so we can know our photos are still live or some of them were lost.

rahulx 04-02-2015 05:07 AM

Also we are waiting....restore all images or you lose all or some images....

Mika100 04-02-2015 06:03 AM

I would like to believe that the problem will be solved positively and quickly!

rahulx 04-02-2015 06:09 AM

Respected Pimp any update now? because almost 14 hours is complete..

pimp 04-02-2015 07:04 AM

Hello Everyone,

Quick update from the hosting company:

Quote:

Hello,

There was an issue with the rebuild the first time around so we replaced the HD and restarted the process.

The drive is currently 54% rebuilt - We are monitoring the progress and will be sure to update you as soon as it is complete.

Thanks,
So i`m waiting for further updates, and will keep you guys posted.

We are doing all in our powers to fix this issue, so please bare with us, its the only thing we can do at this point.

rahulx 04-02-2015 07:50 AM

It is nice...Thank you very much pimp we are waiting for update...

pimp 04-02-2015 09:18 AM

The rebuild had failed again, it is possible that since slot 0 and slot 1 failed, the rebuild may be impossible. We have transplanted the hardware into a new chassis with a new backplane and cabling to attempt once more.
So.... to my seeing the chances seems slim... but again waiting.

rahulx 04-02-2015 09:22 AM

it is bad shit.but we hope

rahulx 04-02-2015 12:05 PM

Respected pimp any new update?

pimp 04-02-2015 01:23 PM

Hello,

We will update you once we know more about the status of the array, currently it is rebuild at 54%. The previous attempt failed at around 75%, which may indicate that the drive paired with the rebuilding drive (slot 0 and slot 1 respectively) may have issues.
So again waiting....

metoulas 04-02-2015 01:56 PM

pimp, i see new photos which have been uploaded few minutes ago.

But uploading is closed. How those photos are uploaded?

pimp 04-02-2015 02:16 PM

We reopened it last night, we just didn't remove the notice.

rahulx 04-02-2015 02:21 PM

ok .will be waiting.I hope everything worked fine

pimp 04-02-2015 04:19 PM

Quick Update:

Unfortunately once again the rebuild to a replacement slot1 drive fails out at 75%. We have, however, managed to get the previously undectable drive (slot1) working again in the replacement chassis/backplane, though we're sure that it is still a temporary solution at best. We will try to rebuild the array into slot 0 instead of slot 1 like we have been, hopefully the data on the original Slot1 drive is in better shape and will allow the rebuild to slot0 to complete successfully. Should this fail, we can see about just trying to pull whatever we can from the degraded RAID or passing the server back to you in a rescue environment to move any data you can offsite. We'll keep you updated as to the progress.

pikopiko3 04-02-2015 04:24 PM

Pimp, which photos are in danger of being lost permanently?

Imean photos eg from last week? Or they can be photos of 1 week and also photos of eg 4 months ago?

Louche 04-02-2015 09:24 PM

Really? Ugh, this is unbelievable.
I've always been paranoid about something like this happening.

I even tried to check every day to make sure things were going smoothly.
How typical.

rahulx 04-03-2015 05:04 AM

Dear pimp
Any new update?anything fix?

pimp 04-03-2015 06:37 AM

At this point the third rebuild failed also, and we are now trying to save at least some of the data manually, the process is going but the guys are asleep due to a very hard night, so i`ll keep you posted when i have some more information.

rahulx 04-03-2015 10:45 AM

ya agree..
Hope you save almost most of data...

pimp 04-03-2015 02:11 PM

We are now actually saving some % of the data, but again i don't know how much until its done, so please bare with us, nothing i can promise at this point. but trust me we are working as hard as we can!

rahulx 04-03-2015 02:14 PM

Dear pimp
yes i know this.we hope you got good result for us..

highwayman274 04-03-2015 03:10 PM
