uploading watermark images

Currently I'm unable to upload any watermark images into my official "Watermark" directory. On the page I click "upload image", select an image, upload it, then nothing shows up.

Everything else seems to be working dandy. I watermarked a test image with the default watermark image fine.

The uploaded images now "count" in the directory, but do not visibly show up.
They also become selectable when going through the watermarking process, but they're just blank images.

I tryed a transparent .png with simple black text, and an opaque .jpg with a white background and black text, neither showed up in the actual watermarking process.
