When someone downloads an album, do you get a hit counted to every photo or is nothing counted?

Would it be possible to have a downloaded gallery counter for each gallery if there currently isn't that funcionality?

also, would it be easy to put up some sort of icon by a users gallery to show they have uploaded new content to that gallery since your last visit? I have several users that semi regularly add new pics and it would save a lot of time not checking if galleries have been added to..... Thanks
