It might be interesting if the "re-post" would give the "re-tweet" like on Twitter and users could post their pictures several times without uploading them again to push them to the start page until new postings come again etc. Similar like on Twitter.

Please let me know if I have made the correct assumption: So, the tab on my profile that is labeled "reposts" is empty even though I know OTHER people have reposted MY posts...so I think that this page only shows post that "I" repost from other people?

If that is correct, then I suggest:
...can we have access to the running record of who/ where our own posts are reposted by other users? THAT is a far more interesting statistic to me. Thank you for considering this idea.

You can scroll through your posts and see there is an icon which counts the reposts of "your own" uploads...

Yes this is correct, it is your reposts of others content, not who reposted your content, to see who reposted your stuff, you can see hover the icon on each of your post/album/image and see who re- posted it.
